Love Letters.
Letters of love.
Oh, especially this time of year, we want to receive love letters.
We all long to be loved and read how another loves us!
I have letters wrapped in ribbon, cards stashed in my bedside drawer, but the one love letter that comes to mind, the one I treasure most is written to me by a King!
The scriptures are my favorite love letters!
“All Scripture is inspired by God …” 2 Tim. 3:16
My heart stores and treasures the truth as letters of love, promise, hope, wisdom and instruction written by God for you and for me. Oh, how He loves us!
“Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long” Psalm 119:97
A few months ago I sat in a circle twelve women who enjoy these precious love letters also. While spending time in bible study together one by one we spoke of who God is to us.
He is my Strong Tower!
He is my Shelter!
He is my Song!
My Comfort!
My Deliverer!
My Rescue!
My Strength!
My Hope!
My Joy!
My Savior!
My Father!
My Never-failing God!
Each woman poured out stories of times when they experienced great trouble; many still burdened. We shared things that brought the group to tears, but each woman knew who God was to them because of the treasured love letters they read in the Bible. The scripture promises they hold in their hearts!
Tucked in our bibles are the most precious letters of love written for us to read. Have you ever slipped your name right into a scripture?
“I am Jodie, chosen and dearly loved.” Col. 3:12
“For God so loved Jodie, that He gave His only Son, that Jodie may believe and have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“All beautiful you are, Jodie. I see no flaw in you.”
Song of Solomon 4:7
Remove my name sweet friend. Insert your own. The scriptures are love letters for you also!
As I talked with a sweet friend who seemed to struggle with trusting these special letters were for her my heart stirred. A burden built inside me as God whispered, “Women need to embrace My great love with their heart. They need to make the promises their own.”
I’m praying if you are that woman today and you are struggling to trust that there is a love letter for you in the scriptures that you will embrace God’s word right now!
Read them, tie a ribbon on them and store them in their hearts.
You are accepted, forgiven, wanted, celebrated…cherished!
You are loved by God, So Loved!
Jodie
Thank you sweet friend for sharing this morning. So grateful on this busy day that I had a moment to stop and read these words. I know that I am loved dearly by our King but today I needed to hear, read, and reflect on the love letters He provides for each of us.
I’m glad you had a moment to stop by! Praying God’s word speaks to our hearts today!
Jodie, love thinking of the scriptures as our love letters. So beautiful! #livefree
