I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions.
But I am not here to trash them either. I plan to lead a bible study tomorrow, New Year’s Day, and the topic I chose to discuss is “Preparing your heart for the New Year”.
In my quiet time I asked the Lord to guide me and quickly it came to my heart that each day is a new day.

And each day comes with new mercies (Lam 3:23).

And the Lords’ Prayer says, give me this day, our daily bread (Matt 6:11).

Then I remembered that even as God created the earth and all that was in it He created new things on each new day and then He rested (Gen1:1-2:3).

Furthermore the first thing He created was LIGHT (Gen 1:3).

light

LIGHT.
A word that keeps resonating in my heart and mind as I seek Jesus in these last days of 2014.

Jesus is the light of the world (John 1:4 & 8:12). God calls us to shine for Him so that this world sees the Light (Matt 5:14-17)!

Make resolutions or don’t.

But with each day of 2015 my prayer for myself and for each of you reading is that you

  • Seek the Lord with all your heart! (Jer. 29:13-14)
  • Accept each day and the mercies that are fresh every morning!
  • Shine! Shine bright to a lost and dying world so that others will see, know and trust the Love of Christ!

Let’s rise and shine for Him! Each day of 2015! Let’s shine together…it will be even brighter!

Happy New Year forever FF girls! Happy New, take it each day at a time, year!
