apples 1

These spotted green apples drew me nearer to the cross.

(Yes, these apples. They are mine.)

I stood in my kitchen debating if I could really transform these spotted apples into something edible. From the outside they lacked promise.

(I hold the promise~ just share my love with them.)

I started to peel away the outer skin.

There were bruises and scars.

Can any good come from this batch of fruit?

The aroma was sweet and I continued with hope of something to come.

(Don’t let them perish. Share my burden for them!)

“For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing”

2 Corinthians 2:15

apples 4

This one apple appeared just as the others from the outside, but when I sliced it open it was rotten.

Rotten through the core.

But it still smelled sweet. (Hurry and tell them about my love. I hold the key to new life!)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:

The old has gone, the new is here!”

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Lead them to the cross,” He whispered as I peeled away the outer skins of the spotted apples. Revealing the scars of suffering, the bruises of abuse, the rot of death that spoke of time slipping away.

See them as I see them, all beautiful, without flaw and ready for my perfect love to transform them into a new life. See them and share love with them. Hurry before it’s too late.

Yes, these spotted apples brought me nearer the cross.

I saw my sin before I knew Jesus and I saw His grace and forgiveness.

I saw those around me who need Him and I saw His sacrifice and His perfect love.

I saw my rotten core without Him and I saw the transformed Life He gave me.

That transformed life is available to ALL of us. His love is available to ALL.

The spotted, the bruised, the scarred, the rotten.

Jesus came and took the punishment of the cross for ALL.

Come, let us draw nearer to the cross~ Jodie
