While out walking today with my husband I looked up and noticed the sky was bright blue, the clouds were abundant, fluffy and bright white. Is it always this beautiful?
Unrush me Lord.
Let me see you, hear you, feel you in every part of my day.
This particular day was hot, I’m getting sweaty. We turn a corner onto a shaded street and the breeze is a sweet refreshment. I want to stay and enjoy this gift.
Unrush me Lord.
Let me praise you for each moment, each gift, each time the breeze blows.
We walk a bit further, take time to talk. I’m discussing Faithfully Fit and our fall kickoff. My husband is listening and encouraging.
Unrush me Lord.
Let me cherish this moment of time for what it is, precious.
Unrush my thoughts. Unrush my ways. Let me take time to see, hear and know You.
Our fall session of Faithfully Fit starts this week and we are calling it:
Keeping It Real in the Chaos
What is the “It” we want to keep real in the chaos, this hustle and bustle we try and keep tempo with? What is the “It”?
It is our faith walk. Our relationship with Christ.
How can we keep it real in everything we do? The simple answer for me is to keep Christ first in my life. The difficult part is that there are other things that are fighting for first place. And if I am not watchful I can easily let something slip up to the top and chaos begins to consume my heart, my mind and my time.
Psalm 139: 23-24 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.” When the chaos begins to consume me I turn to these scriptures and simply say, “Search my heart, search my mind, Lord. If there is anything that does not please you remove it Lord”. But I didn’t always seek this order in my life. I spent many years saying that I wanted more of the Lord; that I wanted Him first in my life. Yet, chaos from the world consumed my everyday. I don’t want to live that way again. I want to Keep IT Real! Keep Christ real in my heart. Keep him first on my to-do list. My heart desires unbroken companionship with Him. Me greatest desire is to see Him, hear Him, follow Him in all that I do.
And we want the same for you in your life. So fall session is designed with one goal in mind. To encourage others walking through the chaos to keep It Real! Keep our faith walk real. Keep Jesus first. In all that we do.
Our focal verses come from Colossians 3:15-17:
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Join us online or in person this fall! Start today by joining us is prayer:
Unrush us Lord.
Let us encourage, build up and pray for one another. Let peace rule our hearts when the chaos wants to consume us. Let us study the truth together, build one another up using the power of the truth. Let the word of Christ be foremost in our hearts and minds. May all that we do, all that we say yes to be for you and your glory. Protect us from falling away, hold us tight, let us hear you, see you and know that you are there. May you be first is our lives that others may be drawn to you. Amen
Here to walk with you, Jodie
