Got your attention huh? Have you ever heard people say this when they are frustrated or when their life seems a bit out of control and one more thing comes up? I sure have. But what does that mean exactly? Life is busy and it requires decisions to be made…day in and day out. We can choose to let those decisions overwhelm us or we can make those decisions wisely. Some of those choices will be small and some will be large, but they will all make an impact on our lives down the road – whether short-term or long-term. We have to understand the best way to decide our best Yes in order to “keep it real” even in the chaos of everyday life. And understanding the love of God is one way that we can make good decisions. For if we understand that God loves us, then we will understand that He will guide us in choosing the best yes!
If it wasn’t “for the Love of God”, we would have no hope. Romans 5: 5-8 says this – “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
If it wasn’t “for the Love of God”, we would be dead. “For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave”. – Psalm 86:13 and Ephesians 2:4-5 – “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions —it is by grace you have been saved.”
If it wasn’t “for the Love of God”, we would be afraid. “For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD”. – Psalm 117:2 and Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
If it wasn’t “for the Love of God”, we would stay in a state of chaos. “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing”. – Zephaniah 3:17 and Psalm 57:10 “For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.”
If it wasn’t for “the love of God” we would not be starting another session of Faithfully Fit this fall. We would not have the chance to study ways to live life in the chaos…real life. We would not be able to seek out scripture in order to grow in the peace of God and let His word dwell within us. (Colossians 3:15-17) So are you ready to join with us as we study “The Best Yes” by Lysa Terkeurst? Are you ready to figure out what it is like to be real….with real women, who have real problems in their real lives, but who serve a real God? I myself am very excited and I hope that you are too!
