And there I was again…lunch time!
The lunchtime crisis. Go home, go out?
Well earlier today I looked over some debit card expenditures and noted quite a few eating out issues. And just yesterday I had lunch out and enjoyed the crispy chicken skin of some really well cooked fried chicken.
So home I went.
The kitchen was stocked with the usual fixins but I wanted something different. The sweet cherries sitting on my counter inspired my next thought. Just last week I made Cherry-limeade with jarred cherries and homemade simple syrup. It was yummy. But what if I used these fresh cherries and lightened it up a bit?

And Waa-laa! Or whatever you want to say! I was done! A cool refreshing lighter version of cherry limeade that made we want to grab lunch on the patio!
And since I made the wise choice to go home (the best yes choice) I was able to sit on the patio with my lunch, my bible, my journal and my refreshing beverage. And that’s where I realized I had food for thought! So I poked around the back of my bible and then found a verse in Acts 3.
“Repent therefore…that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19
And as I soaked in the sun and soaked up the love of The Son I whispered, “I am a sinner, saved by grace, refreshed by the forgiveness of my Savior. How refreshing”!
Be refreshed, Jodie

Today an old drawing popped up on in my “On This Day” newsfeed and I was reminded of a beautiful verse about the refreshment of forgiveness that comes after repentance! Boy we have such a loving and gracious God! And as I peeked back to what I blogged about a year ago I saw that food was on my mind…imagine that! And since God and food are still very applicable in my life and hopefully yours I thought I would reblog this post and extend a special invite to our cooking class next Tuesday evening! Join us if you are near and if you are far…I’ll share photos! https://www.facebook.com/events/1609899399290210/
