We are gearing up for our 5th annual “This One’s for the Girl’s” conference around these parts and this year we are doing a little something different with the music. I am quite excited as we have collaborated a group of women together to lead in worship this year! God has begun working in my heart as I listen to the songs that have been selected and is leading me in doing research behind the songs.

Christian music is only different from secular music in the lyrics..the words that we sing. But when the words have no backing from The Word then is it really different? We stand and we sing, going through the motions with no regard of what worship means at times. I am just as guilty as the next person. But in my research of the song “Great Are You Lord” by All Sons and Daughters, I found this. Louie Giglio once said “Worship is when we give God His breath back”……whoa. Worship should occur when we breath in and when we breath out.

Psalm 90:1-2 –  “Lord You have been our dwelling place in ALL generations, before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, YOU ARE GOD.”

Worship begins and ends with Him. It is a gift. Dry bones given life from the only One who has fought death and won! We are made alive through Him!

Jude 1:5b  – “He breathed life into their earthen lungs and took back the life from those who did not believe”

Ezekiel 37:4-10  – Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.  I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”’” So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.  Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’”  So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

One of my favorite parts about the conference? Listening to 350 women raise their voices in praise to the God who gave us life….returning His breath to Him!  Great are You Lord!

Dry, lifeless souls that were full of sin, brought back to life through the blood of Jesus singing praise to the one who helps us get through each minute, each hour, each day because life is hard and sometimes we need help breathing. You give life, You are love, you bring light to the darkness!

Earthen lungs and broken hearts that have to be reminded that if God will save our ancestors and deliver them from Satan, that He will surely do the same for us. You give hope, You restore, every heart that is broken!

Women of every race, creed, and religion standing together side be side in worship to the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever and Who calls us by name. It’s your breath in our lungs and we pour out our praise to You only!
