Unfortunately, this past week I was on a mommy rampage. I spent much of my time last week painting and redecorating my oldest daughter’s room (per her request) only to be met with huffs, puffs and rolling eyes when I asked her to put things away and clean up some when it was all said and done. Oh she got an ear full….pretty sure that the whole entire neighborhood heard it. And then this mommy, tired and worn got a heart full from her Father on the error of her ways.

Pretty much immediately after I finished said mommy rampage, I read something that basically said this: make sure that your kids don’t just hear your voice but that you speak in a manner that they hear your words. Ouch!

Which got me to thinking….. Are we as Christians making our voices heard over The Word?

Psalm 40:3 “He has put a new song in my mouth-praise to our God. Many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.”

We are to live in such a manner that we share Christ without even speaking a word. We need to make sure that in all that we do that God is seen and heard above anything else. Are we gonna mess up? No doubt. But do we get to start over? No doubt!  Lamentations 3:22-23 “Through the Lord’s  mercies (His great love) we are not consumed because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning (sing a new song every morning! Holy, Holy, Holy) Great is Your faithfulness.”

This mommy heart feels much better and knows that her Father has spoken sweet soft Words to hear and learn from. Dear God, thank you for sharing The Word with me. Lord forgive me for not being the mama you have called me to be and help me to make sure that I speak Life into my children’s hearts shepherding them right to You not letting my voice get in the way. Lord may I cherish the blessings that you have given me making most of each day. Lord thank you for Your grace and mercy and for the new song You provide each new morning. You are such a good, good Father! Amen.
