Feeling the presence of the Lord …His gentle touch, His soft whisper or just that overwhelming sensation that He is there…nothing like it in the world!
And yet, it can so easily be missed.
Recently I wrote this, “Today was that day. I grabbed His hand somewhere in the middle of my walk and I didn’t let go”.
Physically I didn’t have His hand in mine, but the hand of my heart was holding His! Holding on to the strong hand of our loving and caring God is a place where we can find strength and courage. And often it’s this strength and courage that gets me from one day to the next. What a blessing to be in His presence!
Today, on Facebook we are doing an online study of different Psalms. Check out this verse:
23The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
24Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24
Are you longing for the touch of His hand on your life?
Can you recall a time when you know His presence was right there with you?
A time when you felt His hand?
The scriptures say He holds them by hand…if He holds mine, He will hold yours also! But, girls, relationships take nurture. Time together being intent on getting to know the One you long to share life with is vital.
I remember when I was a timid young girl and wanted to hold the hand of my then boyfriend, now husband. It took time. I had to get to know him first. Because holding hands was a big deal! A sign of affection! The great thing is that holding the Lord’s hand is not going to cause that sweaty palm feeling! It will do more than that, for He can do more than we ever ask or imagine!
Reach out your hand to the One who always has outstretched arms and is longing to hold your hand!
Trust Him to fill the voids, to warm the cold, to be your strength! Grab hold of His hand and don’t let go!
