Saturday we learned that brave prayers listen well. We were encouraged to pause and listen, to get into God’s word and be still. We know that may have felt uncomfortable. Like those times when rooms get so quiet you can hear a pin drop but you hear nothing at all. Keep listening. Keep praying brave.

When God speaks, and we believe He will, we have a next step to take…The step of surrender.

Suzanne Eller says, “Praying brave means that I pray surrendered.”

Surrender to the world looks weak.
Surrender to God invites strong to take over our weak.
When we wave the white flag of surrender to Jesus we receive victory.

Praying with a yes heart is deciding that we surrender before we even know all the details.

We let go and we let God. We release control and place it in the very capable hands of God.

Because honestly, feeling we have control is a false perception.

Trying to have control wears us down and tires us out.

It opens the door for fatigue and discouragement and makes us prey to the enemy.

Carrie Underwood says it well when she sings, Jesus Take the Wheel:
“Jesus, take the wheel.
Take it from my hands
‘Cause I can’t do this on my own
I’m letting go”

Whatever God is saying, listen and surrender. Release your thoughts to His and allow Him to reveal His plans to you. It may be a next step that you need to take or it may be something you need to walk away from. He may ask you to move forward with something or ask you to put something down.
Are you ready to surrender and say yes whatever He says?
Are you ready to surrender your wants and desires if they don’t match His?
Are you willing to make changes even if they feel like they leave you vulnerable?

Brave prayers require trust. Brave prayers require that we rest in knowing that God is good and does good (Psalm 119:68 ) and that He works things together for good (Romans 8:28).

Pray with us:
Lord,
Forgive us when we drive without you. When we claim control over situations. When we feel like it depends on us to be the fix something. You are greater. You are ready and willing to battle for us. Victory awaits when we surrender to you. Help us be women who let go and let God trusting that you are good and that you do good.
Amen

Today as you pray consider these scriptures:
Ephesians 3:20; Mark 10:28; Isaiah 64:8

Blessings~ Jodie
