Joy – such a small word with such a big punch! We talk a lot about joy around here. Joy in the laundry, Joy to the World, Joy to wash the dishes (get it?) – Joy.
The world defines joy as feeling good or finding pleasure in something…but we are not of the world, right girls? (Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”)
And on top of that even the most upbeat and spirited individual cannot feel good ALL the time..so how exactly are we to have joy?
Rick Warren says this: Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.
See, life is full of happy moments and sad moments that run alongside one another. But with God, we can truly say with a deep seeded confidence that everything will be alright. We can have true joy!
Want to know my secret to joy? It is really simple and can be easily remembered…J-O-Y……Jesus first, Yourself last and Others in between. See? JOY!!
So as we enter this season of Christmas…I encourage you to spread joy, be joy, live joy!
Being joyful with you!
