As I clean away the dirty dishes I am reminded.
Reminded of the dirty Jesus cleaned away for me.

As I toss out the trash of paper and boxes left behind on the floor I am reminded.
Reminded of the purpose of His birth, His death, His resurrection.

As the house quiets and the stillness of the evening sets in I am reminded.
Reminded that the day we call Christmas has come and gone but Jesus is still here.
Still near.
Still the same.
And wise men still seek Him.

When we all start to put away the ornaments, the wreaths, the lights and the trees, will we put away the manager and forget? Or will we still seek Him?
When December closes and January rings in with festivities and New Years kisses, will we still seek Him?
When resolutions are made and ideals of what we hope to achieve are set in our minds will we still seek Him?

Him.
The One who became flesh that we may be saved from flesh.

Him.
The One born in a manger because the Inn Keeper could not find room for Him in the Inn. The One the Inn Keeper did not give up his room for on the night of His birth.

Him.
The One who loves us. The greatest gift. Ever.

Him.
The One who hung on a cross so that my dirty, your dirty, everyone’s dirty would be cleansed for eternity.
Will we still seek Him?

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”  Matthew 2:1-2

I pray that as the New Year approaches we would prepare our hearts to continue to seek Jesus.
Blessings- Jodie
