Every Friday from now until Christmas we will share one gift that can be given freely without a purchase and one that you can purchase. It’s all part of our Gifts of Friendship series inspired by studying The Friends of Jesus by Karen Kingsbury. Each gift we share will be presented in hopes that others will see and feel the love of Christ!
A friendship gift given freely:
Many gifts can be given freely and while a trip to the store may not be needed and wrapping paper is not necessary the value of these gifts far outweigh presents that require tissue paper!
This weeks gift is prayer.
Prayer is an invaluable gift. It’s priceless value far exceeds our wildest imagination! Blessings abound when knees bow down and cries lift up to Jesus. God has the ability and the desire to hear each request and to attend to every need.
We are currently learning to add scriptures into our prayers.

Almost any need we can imagine has a scripture that relates. Does your friend need strength? Pray for God’s power to be their strength.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Cor. 12:9
Does your friend need peace? Pray for God’s peace to consume their heart.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7
Consider your friends need and present it to the Lord. It’s the gift we can give today, tomorrow and each day after.
Simply give the gift of prayer.
Our pick for a purchased gift that shares Christ this week:
Gifts of scripture! If we are praying the scriptures why not fill our homes and workspaces with beautiful reminders of God’s word? Often people enter my home and ask, where did you get that? And my answer typically is Shannon Golden Designs!
(click the photo to head to Shannon’s page)
Shannon can create just about anything with scripture! The photo above is on my wish list!
These items are currently in the shop.
Each piece is custom just for you! And today Shannon is sharing!
We love those who share good things.
Leave a comment with your favorite scripture that you have displayed in your home or workplace for a chance to win Shannon’s gift:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Phil. 4:6
Winner will be selected by random drawing on Friday 11/27.

Joshua 24:15
Beautiful verse for displaying in our homes and for living out in our lives!
Such a beautiful idea! So glad I stopped by from Suzie’s #livefree place today. One of my favorite verses, especially related to teaching, writing and life coaching is “The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know what to say to all these weary ones.” Isaiah 50:4. This is my prayer that I will always use His words to comfort. Blesings!
Oh Carmen, what a lovely verse. I’m thankful you stopped by! I must go mark my bible now 🙂
Jesus wept.
Speaks volumes with two words.
It certainly does.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
This is such a verse of encouragement! We do not have to depend on our strength. We have access to God’s amazing power! May it be unleashed in our lives!
Psalm 139:14
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
