God is so cool!

Awesome, yes, awesome!

But do we see it? Do we believe it? Are we in AWE of His awesomeness?

This week alone God has blown me away…in a good way. What did He do? Well, He has continually affirmed His plan, His faithfulness, by continually speaking affirmation through His Word.

Today I posted 1 Peter 5:7 on Facebook. It’s a familiar verse to my heart and I just sat on the back patio sharing and digging into the words of this verse with a sweet friend that is joining me in studying Suzanne Eller’s book, The Mended Heart. We looked at it closely and did a little “verse mapping”.

“Cast ALL your anxiety on Him because he cares for you”

(1 Peter 5:7)

And today I read a devotion that I wrote 4 years ago and there it was…1 Peter 5:7! I was resting in that verse 4 years ago and today I rest there knowing and seeing my faithful Father’s hand is upon me…always!

How cool is that? Three times. In one week.

You see, God’s word is active and alive! It is speaking and it is relevant! 4 years ago. 400 hundred years ago, 4,000 years ago. You get the idea! The verse was needed and powerful when Jesus spoke it first and as He speaks it to my heart now.

Awesome! Cool! (yes, my teenage daughter would cringe)

You can call it a “co-ink-y-dink” but I call it God showing off to my heart!

In less than one week I will gather with thousands of ladies online who want healing from brokenness. (http://proverbs31.org/online-bible-studies/ ) Together we will join Suzie Eller and the Proverbs 31 online bible study team in studying her book, The Mended Heart. And I will also join a small group around a table in our church to do the same. And I will continue to sit on my patio with my friend as we dig into Suzie’s words that point us to the “Jesus Factor”. I’m trusting God with the fragile pieces of my heart as I start this study. I’m casting MY anxiety on HIM. Will you?

cast

  • Will you cast your hurt away and let Him heal the brokenness?
  • Will you release your worry and fear and let Him give you strength?
  • Will you trust the One who cares for you?

In our brokenness we are never alone.

We don’t have to mend on our own.

We don’t have to run, Jesus meets us right where we are.

It’s not too late to join the study from right where you are!

We have a beautiful, safe, strong place to find rest and healing…right smack dab in the loving arms of the One who cares for you!

god and me

God is so cool! So awesome! He’s strength and love. And He’s bigger than we could ever imagine!

Father, wise and wonderful; loving, strong and kind. Be our strength today. Fill us with your love, fill us with your peace, mend the broken places in our hearts as we lay them before you. May we each sing joy for the Love you shower upon us so abundantly! Amen.

Walking with you girls, Jodie
