It’s coming.
53 days and counting.
My birthday! And no, this is not a reminder! At least not for you, but for me.
You see the past few years have had some difficult moments. Many of them have been the result of my relationships with other women.
My birthday is a fresh start at a new year.
A new season of life to accomplish some goals and to finally address something that has long burned in my heart.
When I first felt the tug at my heart to write it was because I wanted to write letters of love to the women in my sphere of influence. For many years I have noticed that women, my age and even younger now, are battling self worth issues more than ever and here’s the ugly truth….WE TAKE IT OUT ON EACH OTHER.
Insecurity, competition, and jealousy have made us into women who don’t know how to love and be loved. Do you see it too? Am I the only one?
For those of you who are my friends on FB and maybe even some who follow the Faithfully Fit page or the Faithfully-Following blog you may have seen where I have been promoting a book hard, called Heart Sisters by Natalie Chambers Snapp.
I have been waiting with pure excitement for her to release this book because I believe that so many problems we have in our churches, families, neighborhoods, workplace and even our existing friendships stem from us either not knowing how to bend towards our Father when satan blows his lies into our lives or worse; we are unwilling because it will cost us something that we are not willing to pay.
Over the next few weeks I want to share with all my current sisters in Christ, my future sisters in Christ and my Heart Sisters all that I have learned about how to love you, the women God has placed in my life, in a way that honors the Lord. My prayer is that somehow we can come to a place of agreement with ourselves, God and each other that we need one another to navigate this life.
I am convinced. We need Heart Sisters.
Natalie says it best in the first chapter of her book: ” We need to lean on one another and hold each other up when it feels like we can’t walk. We need someone to lovingly tell us when we should apologize to our spouses when we’re in the wrong. We need someone to speak up if the dark brown lipstick makes us look like a corpse. Simply put, God knew we would need all kinds of relationships to fulfill the desire He placed in each of our hearts to live in community.”
Over the next few weeks I will highlight some of the lessons from Heart Sisters. I hope that it will bring healing to your hurts and be an instrument of God’s amazing grace to you.
Two are better than one because a good return comes when two work together. If one of them fall, the other can help him up. But who will help the pitiful person who falls down alone? ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 ( The Voice)
You really are SO LOVED! ~ LENA

Thank you Lena and to Natalie Chambers Sapp. I have been reading this book working through my own heartbreak over friendships and women and you both have helped me in healing and getting to a point of forgiveness.
My sweet friend Angel, I have been in your shoes and God’s faithfulness was shown to me by his other daughters and it sustained me. I know your hurts and I know the Healer. I will continue to pray and I am here with ears to listen. This is a season, precious friend.. it isn’t forever and there is healing. Love to you.
